What
is Teens Encounter Christ?
-
A
retreat ministry for high school age youth based on Lutheran
theology
-
A
chance to strengthen your faith in Christ and learn more
about what it means to daily live out your baptism
-
Retreats
planned and led by youth, pastors and lay adults, all of
whom have participated in a previous TEC weekend
-
An
experience in Christian community
What
happens on a Teens Encounter Christ weekend retreat?
-
You hear talks (kind of like exciting speeches) by youth,
pastors, and adults sharing ways to live out your faith
and keep a close relationship with Christ.
-
You
build Christian community in small discussion groups, daily
worship, and fun activities with the whole group.
-
You
learn how to more actively share your faith with others.
-
You
get to sing lots of great songs!
-
You
meet youth from across the state (and beyond...).
What
happens each day?
We're not going to tell you everything that will happen. That
would spoil some really great surprises. :-) There are special
themes for each day:
| Die Day
- As
Christ died for us, so we must die to ourselves through
confession and forgiveness |
|
|
I tell you the
truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and
dies, it remains only a single grain. (John 12:24)
We were therefore
buried with him through baptism into death in order
that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through
the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
(Romans 6:4)
|
|
|
| Rise Day
- As
Christ rose from the dead, so we are given new life in
Christ through our baptism |
|
|
But if a grain
of wheat dies, it produces many grains. (John 12:24)
We were therefore
buried with him through baptism into death in order
that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through
the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
(Romans 6:4)
|
|
|
| Go Day
- As
the disciples were sent out by Christ, so we are sent
out with the Holy Spirit to share Christ's love |
 |
As the Father
sent me, so I send you. (John 20:21
You will be witnesses
for me...to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
|
|
Go in peace
to love and serve the Lord.
|
